Event Report: Cleaning Drive at Kolshet Khadi

Title: Kolshet Khadi Cleanliness Drive

Organized by: Devram Laxmam Bhoir Degree College/ NSS unit To promote environmental awareness and community participation, a cleanliness drive was organised at Kolshet Khadi, Thane. The aim of the event was to clean the surrounding area, spread awareness about waste management, and encourage citizen’s tp keep natual bodies pollution-free.

Description of the Event

The programme at 8:00 AM with a breif orientation about safety measures and the importance of protecting local ecosystems. Around 58 volunteers, including students, teachers, our respected Principle of DLB Degree collage. Participants were provided with gloves, mask, garbage bags, and cleaning tools. Teams were formed to cover different sections of the khadi area. Volunteers picked up plastic bottles, wrappers, glass pieces, cloth waste, and other litter accumulated along the water’s edge.During the drive, a short awareness session was conducted, where volunteers informed nearby residents and passers-by about the harmful effects of dumping garbage near water bodies. Posters and placards with messages like “Save Water, Save Nature” and “Keep Kolsht Khadi Clean” were displayed.

Conclusion

The event concluded with a group pledge to maintain cleanliness and continue such initiatives regularly. The Kolshet Khadi cleaning drive was a successful effort that not only improved the cleanliness of the area but also raised environmental awareness among the participants and the local community.
